                                  Best Letter of the Year

Subject:  SFG has completely taken my drought stricken town by storm!

Hi Mel, my name is Laura and I live in: : Toowoomba , Queensland , Australia .
I think your method is absolutely brilliant!!  I would like to express my gratitude to you for sharing this wonderful method to the world.

I belong to the LDS church and came across this method while watching the BYU-TV Homegrown show in August of this year.  I became extremely excited and was amazed at how little water you need to garden using your method.  We are currently in the middle of a major drought and most people don't want to garden because they are scared to use the water.

I shared this method with some friends of mine who are the welfare specialists in my ward.  They jumped at the idea and I have worked with them to ensure that every member of the ward will have the opportunity to learn about this method.  The response has been incredible.  Square Foot Gardens are popping up everywhere.  I bought a copy of your book in August and it is extremely well used and has received a lot of wear.  It is great.
I live in a small flat.  This method has given me the opportunity to have the garden which I never thought was possible in my circumstances.  Thank you very much and on behalf of the city of Toowoomba , thank you.  This blesses my life, and it blesses so many of my friends around me.

Keep up the good work,
Laura

WELCOME TO SQUARE FOOT GARDENING

Dear Laura,

We just can't thank you enough for your letter! Reading your wonderful comments was a great way to end the old year and begin the new! It was particularly heartwarming for me to read of the results of you watching the SFG segment on BYU-TV's Homegrown series because it was filmed in my yard. Little did we know at the time that it would be seen around the world and the impact the show would have.

We are so glad that Square Foot Gardening has made a difference in your town so that gardens can be grown even during a severe drought. It seems that SFG can be easily adapted to any adverse situation that arises.

I have passed your letter on to Mel and he was absolutely thrilled to read it. We both think that not only does it deserve to be the Best Letter of the Week, but that it is the Best Letter of the Year! We'd like to post it on our website for others to enjoy as well.

Please stay in touch and let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Again, we want to thank you for taking the time to write and share your thoughts and feelings with us!

Happy Gardening and Happy New Year,

Karen,

SFG Foundation
